Serendis kicks off the 2024 virtual Career Development and Leadership Program

The Drinks Association’s Career Development and Inclusive Leadership (Virtual) Program kicked off its first session on Thursday, 12 September.

This program, facilitated by Serendis Leadership, includes participants from member companies who are identified as aspiring, emerging and current managers and leaders who would like to invest in their own career development and develop inclusive leadership capabilities.

The program is a pre-cursor to the 6-month Inclusive Leadership Mentoring Program and equips participants with:

  • Tools to progress their careers and position their personal brand
  • Frameworks to understand their key value-based strengths and leadership purpose
  • Opportunity to learn how inclusion unlocks the value of diversity and drives performance in teams
  • Applied tools to practice inclusive leadership behaviours

This year’s course runs over four months and consists of four virtual sessions, including:

  • Inclusive leadership
  • Agile thinking and communication
  • Signature strengths
  • Leadership purpose

The 2024 program was in high demand, with 22 participants from member companies including Accolade Wines, Australian Liquor Marketers, Bacardi-Martini, Campari, Casella Family Brands, Coles Liquor and Pernod Ricard and will conclude in early December.

Course facilitator, Julie Thompson, said, "This group of participants were particularly engaged in the first workshop. We discussed how diversity in the way we think is the key to high performance and that it’s inclusion that is the glue to leverage this value."

Thompson also shared some positive verbatim from the participants following the first session:

‘Thank you for facilitating a great first session. It was most valuable’
‘Appreciate the opportunity to be a part of the course with all the other candidates!!’

Participants will build relationships across the cohort through the program and have the opportunity to attend the finale of the Inclusive Leadership Mentoring Program in Sydney to further develop their connections.
