Pride In Drinks launches

The Drinks Association is excited to launch its first industry Resource Group, within the Embrace Difference Council: Pride in Drinks.
Now with its own logo, the group is all set to host its first round table which will coincide with the 50th WorldPride and 45th Sydney Mardi Gras festivals.

It is the first time that WorldPride has been held in the Southern Hemisphere and the festivities kicked off over the weekend. Many of the Drinks Association’s member organisations are big supporters of the event, including Lion, TWE, Bacardi-Martini, Diageo and Pernod Ricard.

At March’s round table, committee members will share knowledge and ideas, discuss key LGBTQ+ topics, plan for 2023 and beyond, and celebrate who we are as individuals.

The Pride in Drinks committee is also planning its first official event during Pride Month in June. More details to come.

Our official logo is designed by Gabbi Holden Creative Services and is based on the Progress Pride Flag designed by Daniel Quasar to represent and signify a welcome to all marginalised communities.

Quasar says, "This new design forces the viewer to reflect on their own feelings towards the original Pride flag and its meaning, as well as the differing opinions on who that flag really represents, while also bringing into clear focus the current needs within our community.”

Pride in Drinks is made up of a group of industry professionals who are passionate about creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for all members and allies of the LGBTQ+ community so everyone can be their best authentic selves. This aligns to Drinks Association D&I objective to advance the drinks industry as an inclusive destination of choice, reflective of our society, by deepening awareness, promoting advocacy and building practices that attract, develop and retain diverse industry talent.

Currently Pride in Drinks has representation from Accolade Wines, Bacardi, Brown-Forman, Campari, Coca-Cola Europacific Partners, Asahi Beverages, Diageo, Lion, Pernod Ricard and Treasury Wine Estates.

Cheers to diversity, inclusivity, and a prosperous WorldPride 2023 and Mardi Gras.
