Now in their ninth year, the Australian Drinks Awards recognises, encourages and celebrates excellence in the Australian drinks industry.
While we will not be able to celebrate the 2021 awards in person, we are excited to announce the winners of the highly coveted Brand Awards through our Drinks Trade channels next week and to celebrate the accomplishments of the 2021 Contribution to Industry winners at International Women’s Day event in March next year.
The summer edition of Drinks Trade Magazine will also provide details on all the Brand award winners along with insights and interviews.
The Brand Awards are determined by research undertaken by Thrive Insight via a survey of over 4,000 target consumers. Thirty-five brand awards are divided between Fan Favourite and Gaining in Popularity across Beer, Cider, Wine, Spirits and RTDs categories. This year, for the first time, there is a Gaining In Popularity non-alcoholic award in each beverage category.
"The Fan Favourite award is a prestigious award, as it encompasses both brand and loyalty metrics to crown the most beloved brands across Beer, Cider, Wine, Spirits and RTDs,” explained Thrive Insights Director, Chris Papadimitriou.
Mr Papadimitriou observed that this year brand affinity has increased making the Fan Favourite awards more closely contested than ever.
He added, “The Gaining in Popularity award showcases emerging and interesting brands with a number of challengers this year. With the rise of non-alcoholic drinks, the inclusion of the Fan Favourite non-alcoholic awards are sure to be of interest.”
The Supplier Awards were announced virtually in August.
“It is always our intent that the Australian Drinks Awards is an inclusive celebration of the entire industry and we believe the restrictions in place undermine that intent,” said Georgia Lennon, CEO of the Drinks Association.
All existing ticket sales for the Australian Drinks Awards will be rolled over to 2022 on a date to be advised.
