Exchange for Change launches new website

Exchange for Change, scheme coordinator of the NSW and ACT container deposit schemes, has launched a new, customer-friendly website.

The website is designed to make it easier for the drinks industry to understand and participate in the NSW and ACT container deposit schemes.

It provides a one-stop shop with detailed information for industry and participants on how the schemes operate, guides newcomers on how to register, and hosts detailed information on the two scheme’s performance, volumes and pricing.

It is part of Exchange for Change’s ongoing commitment to continual improvement, which recently included the transition to fixed pricing in NSW, improved reporting portal and support measures for suppliers impacted by COVID-19.

“We have listened to our customers and heard the need to provide greater transparency and clarity on scheme operation and performance, consolidate information, and simplify navigation to make participation in the NSW and ACT container deposit schemes as easy as possible for all.

“The new Exchange for Change website reflects our focus on providing an excellent customer experience by providing a tool that makes it easier for business to participate, said Danielle Smalley, CEO of Exchange for Change.

”Both the NSW and ACT schemes have shifted people’s behaviour and thinking around waste, with the community now seeing litter as a valuable resource. The schemes have generated environmental, social and economic benefits.

“Nearly 3.8 billion drink containers have been diverted from landfill and our environment. Community groups and charities have benefited from more than $1 million in donations, and its created employment in the waste industries.

“Exchange for Change is incredibly proud of the schemes’ success which has been driven by the collaboration between government, industry , and the community – everyone is working together to reduce waste and realise a more sustainable future,” said Smalley.

“Exchange for Change is committed to being a listening organisation that uses feedback to improve. I am keen to hear from our customers about what else we can do to make participation in the container deposit schemes easier for them.”
