Asahi wins Most Improved Supplier

Congratulations to Asahi Premium Beverages on winning Most Improved Supplier at the 2020 Australian Drinks Awards.

Asahi Premium Beverages GM Sales Michael Ritoli said: "We are very excited to receive the Most Improved Award. A great team effort from all at Asahi."

2020 Australian Drinks Awards

The Australian Drinks Awards were live streamed this year and hosted by TV personality Shelly Horton. Hundreds of people watched as four awards were handed out for Supplier of the Year, Most Improved Supplier, Category Management and Supply Chain Management.

The winners were chosen via the annual Advantage Engagement Survey.
The Drinks Association has been commissioning Advantage Australia for the past decade to conduct the annual survey, which provides members with favourability ratings and qualitative retailer feedback from the off trade, on premise and wholesale channels.

"The purpose of the Most Improved Supplier Award is to recognise a supplier that has made significant improvements in the way it works with retailers," said John McLoughlin (above), Managing Director APAC at the Advantage Group.

"This award recognises a supplier that has made a step change in their engagement capability. It was won by Asahi in a landslide this year, with a massive increase in its Net Favourable Score to 21 points, seven points more than the next placed supplier. This improvement has been driven by a strong intent and focus from the team to drive engagement with their retailer partners. Congratulations to Asahi!"

Asahi Premium Beverages CEO Scott Hadley (pictured above with Ritoli) recently told Drinks Guide: “This year started very similar to previous years with high levels of excitement and optimism, and within our business, we were looking forward to another superb year of growth while also developing a more entrenched relationship with our customer base.

“Unfortunately, as we all know, our world was turned upside down when COVID-19 started materialising and the environment that we operated in changed dramatically. To say that it has been a challenging time is an understatement and we, like many businesses, have had to revisit our operating business model and determine what is the best way forward for our customers, our people and our businesses."

As the hospitality industry recovers, Hadley said his team will be supporting them all the way.

“At Asahi Premium Beverages, we are committed to supporting our retail partners to help create new areas for growth," he noted. "Our focus will be to make it easy for customers to do business with Asahi Premium Beverages and we will be there to help our customers get back on their feet quickly.

“It is not going to be easy but rest assured Asahi Premium Beverages is sharpening our focus to be well positioned to be a true industry partner for the new future.”
