TWE & CCEP recognised at Australia's leading HR Awards event

In September, Treasury Wine Estates was awarded the Best Reward & Recognition Program and Coca-Cola Europacifc Partners was awarded the Best Health & Wellbeing Program at the HR Awards - one of the leading measures of excellence in HR in Australia, run by HRD Magazine.

Treasury Wine Estates - Cellarbrate - Best Reward & Recognition Program

TWE refreshed its worldwide reward and recognition program in 2020. Cellarbrate is a program that invites TWE's global workforce “ to come together and celebrate one another - creating a culture of authentic, inclusive and meaningful appreciation”.

Katie Hodgson, Chief People Officer, Treasury Wine Estates said, “We’re thrilled to be recognised by this year’s Australian HR Awards for our reward and recognition program. People are the most important asset of our business, and we’ve worked hard to build an industry-leading program that reinforces our DNA and rewards outstanding performance and impact. Whether they’re in one of our vineyards, at a production centre, or in a head office role, everyone contributes to the success of Treasury Wine Estates.

"The accolade complements the recognition we’ve already received as one of the top companies to work in Australia and New Zealand by the Australian Financial Review, and we’re so proud of the inclusive, progressive culture we’re all building together.”

Following its launch in 2020, the program was quickly adopted by the TWE workforce. Within its first year, more than 70 per cent of its people were actively participating in the program – including the ‘non-wired’ portion of the workforce in vineyard and production roles. Cellarbrate includes peer to peer recognition with increasing levels of reward that are tied to TWE’s DNA: trophies and milestone awards to celebrate employee tenure, and enterprise-wide annual awards.

Today, more than 90 per cent of managers have used the new recognition tools, leading to a significant increase in engagement: participation in the 2022 engagement and inclusion survey increased by 26 per cent on the previous year. The results also show strong progress in key cultural indicators, including care for wellbeing, safety, and flexibility.

The Cellarbrate awards for everyday appreciation are complemented by enterprise awards for performance across innovation, health safety and wellbeing, technology, emerging leadership, and inclusion, equity and diversity. Other awards draw on figures in TWE’s history such as the late Dan Townsend (TWE’s former Managing Director, Europe) and Mary Penfold, who was instrumental in growing the Penfolds business with her husband Christopher, and also after his death.

The Dan Townsend Award was established in 2017 and is included as one of the CEO Awards established last year. These awards celebrated TWE team members who had made an exceptional contribution to the business in the past financial year during the year, embodying TWE’s DNA along the way. The awards are recognition of significant achievement and winners also receive reward points to use through TWE’s internal reward and recognition program.

The CEO Awards also include a We Deliver Together, We Are Courageous, We Bring Our Whole Self and the CEO Most Admired Awards.

Gramos Gashi, Project Manager of the Barossa Expansion Project, ANZ was the recipient of the We Deliver Together Award last year.
At the time he said, “TWE has given me great opportunities to learn, meet new people and has empowered me to pursue my passions. To me, no great task can be formed without delivering together, it is about putting others first and giving everybody an opportunity to engage, learn and play a role in delivering a great outcome."

TWE was also the recipient of the Most Inclusive and Diverse Workplace Award at the Australian Drinks Awards in 2021 and 2022.

Coca-Cola Europacific Partners - Healthy@CCEP - Best Health & Wellbeing Program

Healthy@CCEP puts employee health and wellbeing at the forefront of CCEP's workplace culture, founded on the belief that its people should go home happy and healthy to what they love at the end of each day.

Wellbeing is a key corporate strategic objective and the Health, Wellbeing and Injury Management Team delivers programs to support CCEP's workforce to better care for their health and wellbeing.

Recently the Healthy@CCEP team engaged experts and implemented the CCEP Care program in response to Covid-19, making financial coaching, housing assistance, family/life planning, community assistance, and employment planning assistance available not just to its people and their families.

CCEP recently achieved a 93 per cent wellbeing engagement score through a workforce-wide survey, one of the highest engagement scores of all business units, reflecting the level of appreciation across the business for the support that Healthy@CCEP provides.

What makes this wellbeing engagement score particularly remarkable is that it was achieved during a time of unprecedented challenges to our people (posed by the Covid-19 pandemic) and also during a time of great organisational change.

Lisa McCahon, Head of Health, Wellbeing and Injury Management at Coca-Cola Europacific Partners Australia, said: “Continually improving the support we provide our people is something we value significantly at CCEP and this award is testament to the unwavering commitment of our entire Health & Wellbeing team. Their dedication and agility has played a particularly critical role in helping our people navigate the challenges of recent years and, in particular, the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. It’s wonderful to be acknowledged by the industry for our efforts and I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve been able to achieve.”

The business partnered with CancerAid in September to ensure that all of its employees can access the Coach Program and the Carers Program so that if their lives are impacted by cancer in any way, there are supports in place at work for them.

Treasury Wine Estates & Coca-Cola Europacific Partners are Category One members of the Drinks Association.
