Julia Baird announced as keynote speaker

The Drinks Association is thrilled to announce journalist, broadcaster and author, Dr Julia Baird, will be the keynote speaker for the 2021 International Women’s Day virtual event. Dr Baird hosts The Drum on ABC TV and is a columnist for The New York Times and The Sydney Morning Herald.

She is also the author of Media Tarts: How the Australian Press Frames Female Politicians. In 2018 she released Victoria: The Queen and in 2020, Phosphorescence: On Awe, Wonder and Things That Sustain You When the World Goes Dark which truly was the book we all needed this year.

Dr Baird’s keynote will be followed by a Q&A with Treasury Wine Estate’s, George Samios. George will also facilitate an industry panel discussion as part of the event with panellists to be announced shortly.

As a virtual presentation, the annual Drinks Association’s celebration of female achievement will be open to a national audience for the first time ever.

This year, access to the event will be at an organisational level only with businesses encouraged to purchase access to the virtual gathering and host in-office drinks or support their on-premise partners. Once organisations have purchased, all staff nationally will be able to gain access to be a part of the celebration.

To experience the virtual event, please save the date: Friday, 5 March. Broadcasting from 12:30pm – 2.00pm ADST.

Please contact Drinks Association’s General Manager, Rachel Wormald, for information on how your company can access the event.
